Egoboo is a New Zealand based Web Development Company which specializes in the acquisition and development of quality generic namespace. About Egoboo

As a Web Developer, Egoboo’s product is its ability to publish web sites which rank well on internet search engines in generic keyword search enquiries thus attracting a useful amount of web traffic. This traffic is put to work through P.P.C (Pay Per Click), P.P.L (Pay Per Lead), P.P.P (Pay Per Performance), and P.P.I (Pay Per Impression).

P.P.P (Pay Per Performance) is concerned with product sales usually on an affiliate partners web site, as a general rule certain product types do better on the web than others, i.e. virtual (downloadable) products do better than physical products which are more difficult to fulfill. As most of our namespace is Generic, in the first instance we attempt to sell the generic product named in the web address, i.e. on mopeds.com, we sell mopeds; on electricbicycle.org we sell electric bicycles. Many internet surfers want information, we provide editorial and magazine type content, this is used to generate web traffic, in this situation PPI (Pay Per Impression) is used to generate revenue through banner advertising. In summary we use the data provided by our affiliate managers to identify potentially successful products, banners, and content, marketing each or all as it suits.

What is Egoboo?

The name Egoboo is short for Ego Boost which describes everything or anything which makes a person feel they have gained a boost in recognition or felt praise from their peers for a task well done. Internet gamers are part of a community where giant egos compete with one another for attention and reputation, you score major Egoboo when you become “Godlike” or get a “Monster Kill”, because every player in the game is aware that you’ve reached that level. In the days of Space Invaders and video arcades, the best players would post their “High Score” for all to see, and thus receive Egoboo among their peers, who would in turn attempt to do better and thus post their name higher. In science fiction fandom there is a phenomenon called “Egoboo”, it means a boost in reputation. To quote Richard Eney from his 1959 Fancyclopedia II that fandom "may be defined as an infinitely complex system for the production of pure Egoboo." Egoboo is by no means a new phenomenon, rather has probably been around since human consciousness, anything we do that promotes a real or perceived boost in reputation could be described as Egoboo, driving a nice car, being seen with a attractive partner, having a popular friend, a nice house, a good job, nice clothes, etc.

About the Internet

Egoboo operates in the Internet industry. The Internet is still very young, but has grown very fast since the release of MS Windows 95 which famously bundled a web browser enabling millions of people to get online easily. The Internet is a growth industry with new users from all around the world everyday, most of which need help and assistance along with directions (links) to useful portals such as eBay!. The Internet is a modern technology, and everyday new areas of functionality are conceived and added to the mix, so the web is a constantly evolving medium. At its heart is the Domain Name System (DNS) which allows I.P. (Internet Protocol) addresses to be displayed as words known as domain names thus making them human friendly. The Domain Name System enables users to bypass search engines by simply typing the logical generic domain name into the browsers address bar, research has shown that many people access the web this way and will attempt to find what they want by typing a generic domain name. Egoboo is able to benefit from this fact because it has licensed the use of unique and valuable generic domain names which already attract substantial traffic, and by their generic natural are ranked higher in search engine results.

About Iain Mackay

As Egoboo’s owner and director, I have acquired an understanding of namespace and Internet Architecture and infrastructure. I was lucky enough to have access to the web in the early 1990’s before most had even heard of the Internet. At that time the Internet was quite simple and in particular there were no search engines, often, users got around by typing the generic domain name into the browsers address bar, i.e. if they wanted to learn about mopeds, they would type www.mopeds.com into the address bar. I put these lessons to good use when securing internet namespace, and stuck to generic keywords that "are" something. I also advised and helped all my friends and family to buy a few domain names, and I continue to search for and secure generic domain names on a monthly basis. You agree that any legal action or proceeding between Egoboo and you for any purpose concerning this Agreement or the parties' obligations hereunder shall be brought exclusively in a federal or state court of competent jurisdiction sitting in The United States of America . Any cause of action or claim you may have with respect to the Service must be commenced within one (1) year after the claim or cause of action arises or such claim or cause of action is barred. Egoboo's failure to insist upon or enforce strict performance of any provision of this Agreement shall not be construed as a waiver of any provision or right. Neither the course of conduct between the parties nor trade practice shall act to modify any provision of this Agreement. Egoboo may assign its rights and duties under this Agreement to any party at any time without notice to you.
